The dream of opening a restaurant harks back to an early age for Ben, and the further the project developed the clearer the reasons have become.
Opened in January 2020, 28 Market Place set out to be a modern, sustainable dining experience.
This was fundamentally about people.
People who cook and serve beautiful food, executed with skill and precision, with ingredients from producers who care just as much about the product as we do.
Whilst seeking potential producers and suppliers to work alongside, the quantity, quality and variety on the restaurant's doorstep was staggering.
These were skilled, passionate, decent human beings coming together to create something brilliant. A product with a soul and a purpose – driven by the heart, not the head.
It’s this coming together that keeps everyone motivated, keeps the restaurant fresh, and hopefully keeps our industry moving forward.
